History of Study Program
The Informatics Study Program at Universitas Alma Ata Yogyakarta was established in 2015, coinciding with the transformation of the Alma Ata School of Islamic Studies and the Alma Ata School of Health Sciences into Universitas Alma Ata. This change was formalized by the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 155/KPT/I/2016, which became effective on December 21, 2015.
The Informatics Study Program operates under the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, with its main areas of expertise in Software Engineering and Data Science. These focus areas serve as the core of the Informatics curriculum, which has been developed in accordance with Outcome Based Education (OBE) and adopts the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) concept. Furthermore, the study program maintains a special emphasis on Health and Medical Informatics, approached through case-based learning to provide students with unique insights in this domain.
Over the years, the Informatics Study Program has achieved numerous accomplishments both academically and non-academically. These include:
1st Place in the National IoT Competition at the Gorontalo Creativity Competition IT 2021. Champion (1st Place) in the Yogyakarta Championship 6 (Pencak Silat) in 2019. At the Indonesian Science Competition (KSI) POSI 2021, Informatics students won one gold medal, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.
In addition to these achievements, the Informatics Study Program offers a number of supportive academic facilities, including well-equipped classrooms, modern computer laboratories, and a green campus area that contributes to a comfortable and conducive academic environment.
